Jill’s offers the following services:

Mediation

Jill can serve as a neutral mediator to help parties resolve their matter privately in a non-adversarial manner.  As a mediator, Jill does not take sides, and does not impose decisions on the parties. Rather, she encourages collaboration and facilitates discussions between the parties to help them make their own decisions about how to best resolve their matter.

Collaborative Law

Jill practices collaborative law.  In collaborative law, each party hires their own collaborative attorney.  The two attorneys and the two parties then agree to stay out of court, and to negotiate a settlement that is fair to both parties.  Often, an interdisciplinary team is used in collaborative law.  Other team members  may include neutral financial professionals, one or two coaches with mental health backgrounds, and a child specialist, as needed in a particular matter.  In collaborative law, the attorney is an advocate for her client, without being adversarial.

Consulting Attorney

Jill can serve as a consulting attorney to a person who is in mediation with another mediator.  As a consulting attorney, Jill can ensure that a party in mediation understands their legal rights and obligations.  She can also provide advice and guidance about how to negotiate in mediation.

Unbundled Legal Services

Jill is available to provide legal advice and guidance to those who plan to represent themselves in their matter, but want or need some limited assistance from an attorney.
